Clouds in D Minor | Playing Guitar & Piano Simultaneously | Erik Averdal
Listen to this piece:
A gentle guitar and piano improvisation built around a D minor chord and the open resonance of DADGAD tuning.
Erik Averdal plays a Lowden O32C acoustic guitar and an upright piano simultaneously, allowing both instruments to shape the melody in real time.
The guitar moves through freely played melodic ideas while the piano adds notes and harmonies. Rather than following a rigid musical structure, the instruments create a shifting atmosphere.
The music feels cloudy and open, with melodies appearing and disappearing like shapes moving across an overcast sky.
